My Story

I’ve been baking cakes since I was ten years old. I learned very quickly at a young age that If I wanted to eat cake I was going to have to learn how to make them without eggs. I was raised a vegetarian, my parents had conveniently stopped eating meat when I was born. so growing up vegetarian in my house meant no eggs, no fish, no meat. We took it one step further and said no onions or garlic-- how that was even related to the no meat rule was beyond me BUT not eating eggs made it extremely difficult to eat cake. For some reason an eggless cake was a very difficult concept to understand back in the 90s. There was no internet recipe for an eggless cake; even when the internet was available.I was presented with a beautiful slice of a Sesame Street decorated cake-- I was six years old at a friend's birthday party. The frosting was shiny and smooth; the Happy Birthday wording now sliced into squares but it was still perfectly straight and so neatly written. This cake made me smile real big and I was excited, until reality set in. The cake did indeed look delicious, but I knew that's where my experience would end that day. This cake definitely had eggs in it and I knew that because all of the adults would remind my cousin and me over and over and over again to make sure I didn't forget.

I was about twelve years old when started to bake at home more regularly finding egg replacements as I went along. After a certain point I couldn't get on board with even wanting to try eggs. It turned into if I knew something used eggs I didn't want to eat it. I can't say that is the case today. Eggs are my best friend in so many ways (Sorry mom!).

I've come a long way from just baking eggless cakes and my skills have expanded into unique world of flavor creations. I've learned to make cakes with exotic fruits and spices and introduce unique flavor combinations. I love a challenge to fit a particular flavor palette and as if that wasn't enough spice for me I also started experimenting with cake decorating and design. Finding the right colors to the match the moods, flavors and themes while using molding chocolate and  gum paste to sculpt and watching how every stroke of buttercream was like a new story unfolding with a unique perspective.

I didn't know I was neurodivergent when all these brilliant ideas started popping up but when something just felt right,  I always got this fierce compulsion to do everything right NOW and this time was no different.

Fast forward to September 2023; my son was diagnosed with ADHD and I started learning more about neurodiversity. Learning about the mind and gut health started my curiosity in all things we were eating.  Then in 2024, I was diagnosed with my own neuro-spicyness (AuDHD). I pursued my passion of cake decorating and design and turned into a full time business but I only wanted to use ingredients I can pronounce and aren't a mystery.

Cake isn’t just about mixing ingredients —it’s about celebrating individuality and sharing stories that are as rich and unique as the flavors I create. I am looking forward to this slice of my mind. Its full of possibilities and sweet experiences while leaving cherished memories with every slice of imagination created. So here I am, sharing my little dream with all of you.

Let’s cake, learn, and grow together- one slice at a time.
